Description

Just 10 minutes from New Chitose Airport flows the clear Chitose River, a river that has supported people’s lives since the Jomon period around 7,000 years ago.
Fed by Lake Shikotsu, known for having some of the clearest water in Japan, the river has long been part of the lives of local people, including the Ainu, and reflects a culture shaped by water.

On this excursion, guests will enjoy a relaxing Canadian canoe ride down the upper Chitose River, surrounded by rich nature. Along the way, a canoe guide will introduce the river’s natural environment, history, and the lives of the people connected to it.
After canoeing, guests can enjoy lunch made with local ingredients at a café restaurant near the Chitose River.
This compact yet meaningful excursion is an ideal program for the Airline Leader Summit Asia, offering a memorable experience of Chitose’s nature, history, and culture.
